FCB Inferno and the Premier League fighting against racism

Blog - Belgrade, 24 November 2021

Racism is a major global problem, and the world of football is not exempt from it. The English Premier League has been facing the problem of racism for a long time and decided to directly oppose it and encourage club fans to do the same.

To this end, FCB Inferno has created a campaign for social networks and television that encourages the reporting of discrimination, whether it happens on the field or online, after which those who committed racial violence would be punished by being banned from coming to matches.

The matches that took place within the Premier League in the period from October 16th to 24th were dedicated to the message No Room For Racism, which was promoted by the league itself and by individual clubs.

In order to help in the further fight against racism within the world of football, but also in society in general, the players helped to create new educational tools that will be available to primary and secondary schools.

The Premier League has also continued to address the problem of online violence and the spread of hatred and to insist, along with other organizations, that the government and social media companies react more sharply and remove hatred and abuse from their platforms.

Through an online reporting system, the League supports all the players, managers, and their families who become victims of violence and discrimination. A dedicated team investigates cases to identify perpetrators and initiate legal action when necessary. Since 2019, the Premier League has been actively monitoring social networks and reporting violent content in order to remove it.

The goal is for as many fans as possible to get involved in this action in order to clearly convey the message that racism is not welcome.

Earlier this year, the Premier League launched the No Room For Racism action plan outlining key steps in promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion for people from non-white backgrounds.
