The official declaration of this year’s winner of the Young Lions Serbia competition will be held during May, at the Belgrade Radisson Collection hotel. The theme for this year’s young lions was the thirtieth anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, with a special emphasis on the involvement of children in making a number of decisions.
The judging of the works was held on April the 15th, and the judges where: the head of the judges Slavimir Stojanović, Jana Savić Rastovac, Anja Radulović, Ivan Nikolić, Svetlana Ćopić, Veljko Golubović and Božidar Dimić, representative of a non-governmental organization „Prijatelji dece Srbije” (Friends of a children of Serbia). After the judging was finished, the head of the judging team, Slavomir Stojanović, said: There are frequent situations in which younger generations approach work by understanding the briefing banally or with a dose of irony. However, the solutions we evaluated were pretty mature.
There were many fantastic ideas and it was not easy to choose the best one. We were guided, among other things, by which contestant pair best responded to the brief. They have been well-versed in the subject and have no repetitions in relation to what already exists. They really had an innovative approach. Any work sent to the competition, in all three categories, can easily fit into activities carried out by the non-governmental organization „Prijatelji dece Srbije” - said Božidar Dimić after judging the works.
This year’s briefing of Young Lions competition, supported by the organisation „Prijatelji dece Srbije”, was held on April the 10th in the quarters of Belgrade’s Open Marsh Space. Twenty-two competing teams had entered the competition in three categories: Print, Digital and Media.
After the briefing, teams had 24 hours to submit their works and compete for the national Young Lions Serbia prize for 2019, a trip to Cannes and participation in the most prestigious global competition of young professionals in the marketing sphere. Both these, like previous years, the creative and technical support of the competition, with the help of the departure of the winning team in Cannes, was provided by FCB Afirma agency.
