The campaign created by FCB Inferno raises awareness of what we as individuals, but also as a society, can do to stop the abuse of women and girls finally.
The Ministry of the Interior of the United Kingdom has launched an ambitious multi-year national campaign that tells ENOUGH of this type of violence. The first phase of the campaign focused on the fight against abuse and the abusers (perpetrators).
The campaign included TV commercials, billboards, social media advertising, and radio. It pointed out various forms of violence against women and minors and simple measures anyone can take to face the violence.
Presented forms of violence against women and minors include: street harassment, forced control, unwanted touching, harassment in the workplace, revenge pornography, and cyberbullying.
The entire campaign is based on an incredible 180,000 responses to last year's "Call for Proof". The results of the latest research in behavioral science were also used, which relate to the extent to which society can influence an individual's behavior and the importance of providing simple options for overcoming various challenges in meeting an abuser.
A website has been created that provides information on safe steps that can be taken to prevent violence against women and juveniles, as well as instructions for victims of these crimes, but also advice (warnings) for perpetrators (those who commit or are prone to violence) who can recognize their behavior as problematic and want to change it.
The campaign shows all the ways we can support and say ENOUGH to violence against women and minors and encourages us to look around, report violence, provide support to victims and thus encourage positive social change.
Emily Whiteaway, director of FCB Inferno, pointed out: “Conveying a sense of togetherness was pivotal to the creation of ENOUGH. We wanted to produce a campaign that emphasized that the power is in all of our hands to stop violence against women and girls. Keeping safe has been placed on the shoulders of women and girls for too long. To bring about change, we all need to feel empowered to challenge abusive behavior and attitudes.”
